The continued success of the Lakeland Pigfest is in no small part due to the unwavering support of its organizers. When the seeds for the festival were first planted in 1994, the small group of local businessmen knew that in order to put on a Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned event in Lakeland, dedication was a must.
